Q: What is a zine?

A: A zine is a small, handmade, self-published booklet or fanzine made by an individual or small group over a set period of time.As the definition goes on, it is short for "magazine", zines are a do-it-yourself medium for expressing personal ideas and experiences, often on topics outside traditional publishing, and can include art, comics or politics.

Q: What is this zine?

A: This is the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Alternate Timeline Zine!It will be a free digital fanzine that will feature artists, writers and cosplayers who love alternate universes (AU's) or simply want to change the outcome of cannon! We will also be allowing crossover universes and non-cannon shipping AU's! We will also allow artists to include their own AU or pay homage to already existing AU’s*!

*(E.G. Standverse by @Brightgoat- contributors will be required to @ the original creator/not use their submissions for monetary reasons unless permission has been granted by the creator!)

Q: What is an AU?

A: An AU is short for ‘Alternate Universe’, is a separate universe or world that coexists with a known universe or ‘cannon’. It is very different from the original media.Did you know? Some fans combine already-existing media with each other and also call these creations AU’s! (E.G Sonic the Hedgehog x JJBA AU)

Q: How does this work?

A: It will go a little something like this (in short form):• An interest check will go out to get an idea of how many people are interested in contributing or consuming this zine! (15 Oct)• The interest check will close and after some time, the contributor applications will open and close after a month!• Acceptance messages will then go out if applicants are successful!• Accepted applicants will then be required to give a pitch for their chosen art form if they haven't already!• April 2026 will be the month of the final deadline!• June 2026 will be the month of the zine launch!

Q: What can we do for this zine?

A: Anything AU-related! (Non-cannon basically)If you want to change the ending of a certain part, let certain characters survive, or completely swap out a stand or it’s user, then it’s completely up to you! We love the ‘what-ifs’ and the possible outcomes you create. Want to make one of the good guys become one of the bad guys? then be our guest! Please bare in mind that there will be slight spoilers, but we want to make this fair for creators alike.Examples of what you could submit:

Q: What will not be allowed in the zine?

A: As this is an alternative Universe Zine, we would appreciate if contributors do not submit anything that will cause discourse or harm to minorities. NO NSFW! Ships will be allowed, but if you plan to do so, please let the host know on your application as this will not be granted during pitch submissions!
